United Bank of India
Headquartered in Kolkata, United Bank of India is one of the best banking and financial services providers in Eastern India. It is a state-owned public sector bank.
About United Bank of India (UBI)
UBI was nationalized together with 13 other prominent commercial banks in India by the Government of India in 1969. United Bank just had 174 branches when it was nationalized. Currently, United Bank has a 3-tier organizational arrangement comprising the head office, 1510 branches and 28 regional offices. The Chairman and Managing Director of UBI is Shri Bhaskar Sen.
The bank has a dominant presence in states like West Bengal, Manipur, Assam and Tripura and plays the role of a Lead Bank in these states. It is also named as the “Tea Bank” since it has been offering loans to the tea industry for a long period. The ATMs of UBI have CashTree agreement with eleven other banks.
