About Corporation Bank

Founded in 1906, Corporation Bank started its operations in Udupi, Karnataka. Currently, the bank has many branches in different parts of India. It started its journey with an opening capital base of only Rs. 5,000. Corporation Bank is one of the oldest banks in India and it was nationalized in 1980.

Corporation Bank is a public sector unit (PSU) and more than 50% of its share capital is owned by the Government of India.

Corporation Bank is the only bank in India to release its financial results in accordance with the US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

The Initial Public Offer (IPO) of the bank was launched in 1997. Currently, the chairman and managing director of Corporation Bank is J. M. Garg.

The representative offices of Corporation Bank are located in Hong Kong and Dubai. Currently, Corporation Bank has a countrywide network consisting of 1,155 fully automated CBS branches, 1,200 Branchless Banking Units and 1,145 ATMs.
