At present, there are 96 scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) in India. Out of these 96 banks, 27 are public sector banks (where the Indian Government has a stake), 31 are private sector banks (without any stake by the Indian government, these banks are listed and traded on stock exchanges) and 38 are international banks. All these banks have a consolidated network of more than 49,000 ATMs and 53,000 branches in the country. Top banks in India make a significant contribution towards the growth of the country. Axis Bank

Axis Bank (erstwhile UTI Bank) was founded in 1994. It is one of the “big four” banks in India. The products and services include personal, corporate, NRI and priority banking. It is headquartered in Mumbai.

Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) is a major overseas bank in India. It is headquartered in Mumbai and offers products and services like personal banking, NRI services, forex services, corporate banking and institutional banking.

Kotak Mahindra Bank
